The H Foundation Raised Over $575,000 at the 10th Annual GOOMBAY BASH Last Month at Chicago's Navy Pier

CHICAGO– The H Foundation, a non-profit LaGrange, Illinois-based organization dedicated to raising funds for Cancer Research, has raised over $575,000 for Cancer Research, with all proceeds benefitting the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. The funds were raised primarily during last month's GOOMBAY BASH at Chicago's Navy Pier. Over 1,200 people attended, over 100 people volunteered, and over 1,000 people donated money to this cause.

According to John Rot, co-owner of Horton's Home Lighting and Chairman of The H Foundation. “Our tenth year party broke an all-time fundraising record. Thank you to the thousands of you who supported our cause and donated to the Goombay Bash. It was a memorable evening, with extremely remarkable results."

Helping to spearhead the fundraiser was a lighting/ceiling fan manufacturer consortium comprised of Bulbrite, Fanimation, Hinkley Lighting, Murray Feiss, Schonbek and WAC Lighting. These companies have well-exceeded their goal of $50,000 to support The H Foundation and cutting edge Cancer Research.

The annual Goombay Bash, what has become one of Chicago's largest charity fundraisers, and the industry is stepping up to the challenge of supporting the foundation at a higher level than ever before. Launched in 2000 by Hortons Home Lighting, a leading lighting distributor with locations in LaGrange, Chicago and Orland Park, IL, after two employees were diagnosed with cancer a month apart, the Goombay Bash fundraiser for cancer research has evolved into a beloved industry force.
